Learning Through Watching
YouTube has undoubtedly revolutionized the way we learn in every field. Traditional forms like books, articles, and even documentation have lost significance in recent years.
The younger generation is accustomed to continuous action, "moving" images, and content served on a platter, stripped of unnecessary details. Making money on YouTube has also become easier than ever before, so it's no surprise that more and more online creators are eager to share their knowledge.
With the flood of hundreds of channels, it's hard to choose the valuable ones. During my work, I came across and tested many of them, so I would like to share some recommendations. The channels listed below are interesting, each in their own unique way. The content is exceptionally well-prepared and substantive. Watching them, you usually get the "meat" without unnecessary embellishments.
React and JavaScript
Modern React cannot do without the most popular framework, NextJS
. Most channels currently base their content on this framework.
JavaScript Mastery
A channel with a rich library of very extensive tutorials. The author builds ready-made applications solving real problems using modern SaaS tools with free programs.
Josh Tried Coding
A channel with content similar to JavaScript Mastery, but in addition to tutorials for whole applications, you will also find news from the frontend world, new frameworks, libraries, SaaS tools, etc. Worth checking out.
Code with Antonio
Very similar content to the above - many tutorials on interesting projects, also on clones of existing services like Canva or Netflix.
Code with Ania Kubów
Another channel with tutorials. The distinctive feature is AI, which Ania heavily relies on and bases her projects on.
CSS
Kevin Powell
A great channel on CSS - lots of news, new features, tricks, and guides on efficiently using styles.
News, Summaries
Fireship
On Fireship, you will find great summaries of news from the IT world delivered in a very concise form. The author creates content in a humorous way - a good method for quickly updating your knowledge.
He also runs the Beyond Fireship
channel, which extends the main channel with longer formats, focusing on tutorials.
Other
Pixel Overload - Graphics
An amazing channel. The author shows the art of pixel art from the ground up - not necessary for web development, but it can prove useful.
Olivier Larose - Animations
Short guides on building advanced animations supported by JavaScript.
Brackeys - Game Dev
An excellent introduction and starting point to the world of Game Dev - currently, the author focuses on the increasingly popular Godot engine.
